New record signing Steven Defour is eager to help Burnley remain in the Premier League this season, having signed a three-year contract at Turf Moor.
The 28-year-old Belgium international midfielder has joined the Clarets from Anderlecht, becoming the fourth major signing of the summer for Sean Dyche, following the arrivals of Johann Berg Gudmundsson, Tom Pope and Jon Flanagan.

And former Standard Liege and FC Porto man Defour is looking forward to a new challenge and is determined to help the Lancastrians avoid an immediate return to the Championship.
He told his new club’s official website: “I hope I can bring my experience to the team and help the club to stay in the Premier League.
“I’m looking forward to every game. It is a new challenge for me, but I like that.”
Having begun their season with a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Swansea City, Burnley are 8/11 to be relegated this season, with Middlesbrough priced at 5/2 and Watford 9/4.
And Dyche is delighted to have finally got the deal for Defour over the line and expects the new man to make a big impact for the Clarets.
He added: “Steven was a target of ours and it’s been a hard deal to do, but we got there in the end. He’s a good player with a depth of experience at international level and also Champions League.
“Steven is new to the Premier League, but has a real thirst and desire to be successful in this campaign.”
Burnley are back in action on Saturday when they play host to Liverpool at Turf Moor, with the Clarets having lost all four of their previous Premier League meetings with the Reds without scoring a goal.
