The England international midfielder recently returned to action after a knee ligament injury which seemed likely to have ended this season in Liverpool, before he made a quicker than expected recovery.
However, Henderson does not expect to start at St Jakob Park on Wednesday night, telling reporters: “I don’t expect to start. I know I’ve been out a long time and I’ve only played 25-30 minutes.
“When I’ve been injured the team has done very well and played in some big games to get to the final. I’m ready to play as long or as little as the manager wants me to.”
Liverpool are priced at 8/13 to lift the Europa League trophy, while they are 12/1 to win after extra-time and 10/1 to triumph in a penalty shootout.
Meanwhile, Reds playmaker Philippe Coutinho says that winning a trophy is the most important thing for the Anfield club and not the added motivation of securing a Champions League place for next season.
The Brazil international added: “Personally for me winning the trophy is the most important fact.
“The positive consequence of winning the trophy is getting a Champions League spot, but the squad are focused on the trophy.”
Liverpool have twice met Spanish opposition in a major European final, defeating Real Madrid 1-0 in Paris in the European Cup final in 1981, before overcoming Alaves 5-4 after extra-time in the UEFA Cup final 20 years later.
Meanwhile, Sevilla defeated Premier League Middlesbrough 4-0 in the UEFA Cup final ten years ago.
