Sevilla head coach Unai Emery says that remaining hungry is the key to his club being in the Europa League Final for the third season in a row.
The Spanish have won the UEFA Cup or Europa League on a record four occasions, including two in the last two years, and can make it five when they take on Liverpool in Basel tonight.
And Emery has not lost his desire to claim another trophy, with Sevilla and Liverpool having played seven times between them in the final of the UEFA Cup or Europa League and never failed to lift the trophy.
He told the official UEFA website: “Sevilla care about this competition. You have to come up with the goods and rise to the challenge to go a long way in this competition.
“The fact that this is our third consecutive final demonstrates how focused and hungry we have been to do well in the Europa League Final, and win it.”
Sevilla can be backed at 5/4 to lift the trophy on Wednesday evening, while Liverpool are 8/13 and are 10/1 to triumph following a penalty shootout.
Meanwhile, Los Rojiblancos captain Coke has urged his team-mates to treat the game in Basel as if it is their last chance to win a trophy.
The 29-year-old defender has been a key figure for the club as they have seen off Benfica and Dnipro to win the Europa League in each of the last two seasons, but he is as keen as ever to savour another major European final.
He added: “This could be the last trophy some of our players win, so we must completely commit ourselves to bringing the cup back to Seville.
“Playing in a final is a dream come true for every player, right from the very beginning of their careers, and we’re making that dream come true for the third year in a row.
“You have got to enjoy matches like this as if they were your last.”
